Need help on a few questions:

Just tell me the formula and why it is used.

- At an acceleration of 3.0ms^-2 how far would a car travel if it began from a standing start and reached 28.0ms^1?

- A rocket travelling at 42.6 ms^-1 accelerated at 15.2ms^-2 for a distance of 1800m. What was its velocity then?

- A boat, intially travelling at 21.4ms^-1 accelerated at 1.6ms^-2 for 6.5s. How far did it travel in this time?

- A plane travelling at 200.0ms^-1 accelerated for 6.2s during which time it covered 2000.0m. What was its acceleration?

-At an acceleration of 12.0ms^-2 how long would it take for an object to travel 180.0m if its velocity was originally 6.00ms^-1?

-A cyclist whose original velocity was 5.0ms^-1 accelerated at 0.8ms^-2 for 4.3s. How far did the cyclist travel during this time?

1) s=ut+0.5at^2
2) v^2=u^2+2as
3) s=ut+0.5at^2
4) s=ut+0.5at^2 [rearrange]
5) s=ut+0.5at^2 [rearrange, solve resulting quadtratic equation (in t) using quadratic formula, only accepting the positive value]
6) s=ut+0.5at^2

NOTE: Here i have used common physics notation, and additionally i have denoted vector quantities in bold [not that it is needed in this question, just useful to know].
