Hey guys, just looking for some help/advice regarding my first task and i don't know where to begin cause i suck at theory. I have to arrange "And I Love Her" in a jazz style for Bb Clarinet or Trumpet melody, Piano chordal accompaniment, Guitar, Bass and Drums. It also must include inversion of chords (!?!?). Anything will be of help! Thanks

Hey there,

That sounds like a pretty cool assignment! Have you studied jazz music at school yet? If not, then perhaps do a little research into typical jazz characteristics (7th chords, particular scales etc) and select a few of those that you'd like to incorporate into your arrangement to give it that jazz vibe. Also perhaps think about rhythms and syncopation to add the jazz feel to it.
