I've chosen this elective because I've already chosen to do musicology for ext. and compositions stress me out too much. But I have no idea what the standard is like at all. I go to a very small school that places little emphasis on the HSC so I'm kind of sheltered from the reign of terror that I picture the BoS as.

Who else is doing performance elective, and what pieces have they chosen?
I play the classical guitar, I've only been playing for 2-3 years but I work very hard. If any of you know these works, I plan to perform Sakura, The Goldfish Suite OR Stele (both by Philip Houghton) and a tango duet, possibly one by Máximo Diego Pujol.
What is the standard like at other schools?
(oh and do any of you know Philip Houghton?)

im also doing music 2 perf.

standards for music 2 would probli be a bit higher than music 1, lets say grade7+? although many are def above, and small number would be lower.

Grade 7? I've never done an AMEB exam for classical guitar but I think one of the Houghton pieces might be grade 8.

What pieces have you chosen to perform? (and on what instrument?)

im doing piano:

aus: frangipani (ross edwards)
1900-1945: toccata (khatchaturian)
1900-1945: jardins sous la pluie (debussy)

aus piece would probs be 8th gradish. toccata maybe amus, and jardins is on the ameb lmus list.
