well idk how hms will work after syllabus change but rn its all about how the body changes, you do a few case studies on sports and how Australian health is and what we can do to fix it

cafs from memory was legit how communities & group work together to help society and how different types of families aid in diff goals (I did it in y11)

hospo according to my friends is majority theory work but it’s like basic stuff apparently and you take a week off to do work experience at a cafe ur school organised for you

Did you enjoy cafs? what do you think you got out of it?
my mum says I should do hospo cus it'll help me get the qualification for a part-time job while i'm at uni and i reckon so too but I'd rather it be more practical than theory based like food tech

mann there's so many interesting subjects but can't do them all

I did like cafs but I liked pdh more, it was more interesting to me imo
Hospo can be done differently in schools, this is just what my school does but I know some schools like mine offer RSA/RSG for hospo classes so that can be really helpful!

visual arts and timber pretty much revolve around major projects aka you’ll be spending most of your time in those subjects working on a year long project, u also have assessments alongside those so you really need to manage your time well. if you enjoy those subjects though, definetly worthwhile because you’ll hopefully enjoy making the projects

ALSO MUSIC (forgot about this one), I have never done Music in my whole entire life. Don't know how to play an instrument. can't sing. Buuttt I always did wanted to learn an instrument (guitar to be exact) aand listening to music is literally like a ritual for me and I did ask the Music teacher in my school and she's like "lovely we can get you playing the guitar in 2 years!" and I'd like to try something new but idk if it's risky and stupid or not....... ALSO WILL WE HAVE TO PERFORM IN MUSIC? (This is Music 1 btw) my school is a performing arts school so idk if that helps or not

Oooo I really liked the whole topic on sports medicine and first aid! Even learning about how health is so different and how it can affect others in areas is really interesting bc I did case studies on First Nations and Low SES areas in Sydney and honestly I think my teacher also made it extremely interesting bc she’s so experienced in the subject! Personally I did find year 12 a bit more interesting but honestly it all ties in together nicely + I do like sport so it was really fun learning about athletes

Ohhh that's super cool! I'm not particularly fit so I was interested in pdhpe because of the health components (to help me get fit and healthy myself yk) but do you think with that as my only reason to do pdhpe, would that be a sufficient reason? ifykwim

Tbh I hated pdhpe bc of the practical part but Pdh isn’t necessarily ab how u can get fit, it’s more so the applications of health irl and how it’s different to ppl but icl my teacher was really good at convincing ppl but I chose it bc I thought it was interesting

Most of VA does revolve around major works and practical stuff, but a good portion of it is also theory and analysing unseen artworks. You will have to learn about art history and movements and how these shape/inform different art practices, so you will have to do analysis and learn to recognise how conceptual and material practice, the four frames (postmodern, subjective, cultural, structural) and the conceptual framework create meaning within the works which can be kinda hard depending on the work. But obviously practical is a way bigger part, the theory portion is just something to keep in mind!
