Yes it's essentially the same thing, I had forgotten about AoM..quite possibly the worst RTS I have ever played, I seem to be about the only person who really doesn't like it. Same for generals, it was clunky and slow paced.

I have not got much of a story line yet, I'm hoping someone else will come up with that for me...I'm just a programmer ;).

Sorry to hear bout the laptop, and good luck with that, could you post the website, and if you need help with it id be willing to help out :)

My laptop has been fixed, The motherboard, ram and cpu were all replaced. Must have been a power surge that did it...I usually leave it plugged into the ac adaptor.

Woot! I can come up with some things for you if you want ^^ Oh and about AoM and CC Generals, im on par with you there, I hate them. Starcraft is the only good RTS still out there IMO ^^...hard to beat =D. So are you gonna do cell shading graphics? ;)

lol.. Well it goes like this... How many of you have the chance to get into the industry of your choice without a degree? Well like every stupid n00b out there dreams to do, I've pretty much gotten that opportunity (it didn't just fall into my lap of course, a few meetings and lots of ass kissing).

Towards the end of last year I managed to score a temporary contract (12 months from January 1st). It's not a shit load of cash (it's a big chance to be taking for the company if they gave me a truck full of dosh). I have to develop my engine and a demo as far as I can by myself. If I can pull off a near developed game (I mean, for a single person..obviously in a year, a production quality game is hardly possible) then I've just scored a permanent position. Yay for me, over 75k easily and at 18 it's a good deal I think.

It's pretty good, I get access to a massive library of textures and data sets, it's absolutely huge. I get access to test machines with latest hardware, not all the time, just when they're not using them. Hope I get permanent job, unlimited coffee and they restock this massive junk food room continually, there's like anything you like to eat there lol... And of course playstation and gym.. Dream job.

Well I work nearly 19 hours a day on the game and sometimes I need extra cash so I take a freelance job programming whatever and then on saturday night I get trashed off my face with friends, do something stupid and my week starts over again.

I've done quite a bit of work on it, so far it can load maps and models, draw maps and models and the gui for menus and stuff. which is what I'm building now.

It shows the main menu which is now completed. . . working on the settings menu now, will move onto the single and multiplayer ones tomorrow in my free.

Any suggestions on the interface are appriciated. I know the metal needs scratches and the rust needs work, but that is just something I whipped up quick :p ...
Well first question how many teams do u want to have, second is it only spannning one time frame of will it be like AOE or RON.

The style of game play i like is similar to RTS where the games are ussually nice and short unlike RTS games like AOE where its very hard to rush. An idea i sorta had when i wanted to make games was that each race needed more of one resource to construct its units as another race. They could evolve into anything they want but the main thing was that they needed to have been in the game for a long time for them to be able to be able to morph into stronger units whereas the humans are the generic build and tech up. The game i think ur talking about is Dark Colony, it is set on Mars, and the Aliens are stronger at night


Well the teams really depend on the timeperiod for example
