Im not sure he can do that, i think you'd have to "hack" your way into sticking it in there through registry or powertools or something like that

BEt you're gona say how so I'll answer this in advance.

Right click on your start button, then select "Explore All Users", now if that's where you want your shortcut, File > New > Shortcut, then follow the prompts.

Simple really.

LoLz...so there aint a way? :p

EDIT: I just want it near the My Documents/MyMusic/My Pictures section of the start menu.

If it can't be done then I'll just have to put it in the taskbar I guess..?

Is my video's actually part of MS, or did you make your own folder?
Because you can put things there from Right Click task bar -> properties -> Start Menu -> Customise -> Advanced -> Start Menu items.

But, it's not there so I don't think its a Microsoft thing? Unless I somehow deleted mine .. I bet i did...

^ That is the only way to get the folder in, and also My Videos was actually scrapped as being a default folder, MS just forgot to take out the icon, and left some traces of it in some cases it gets created.

Putting the icon under the run section was allowed, primarily for OEM manufacturers like Dell, to provide a link for support in the start menu.

I know the 1st step:

I'm pretty sure you can specify what you want to display in the start menu with [rul=http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx]TweakUI for Powertoys[/url]. Save you a whole bunch of unecessary playing around with the registry.

Probably a registry hack, search for WINXP registry hacks on google.
Why do you need such fast access to the video's folder anyway rofl.
If you did the shortcut thing which I told you earlier it would be in the start menu and you could have it right above "Programs".

EDIT: Or just do what Murf told you to do. Having some knowledge of the registry is always good anyway.

Hm, I can change all the items except the My Videos folder. I can get the My Music folder up there, perhaps you could put your videos in that?

CAn't you get my music up there by Right-click Taskbar-Properties-Start Menu-Customize>Advanced> Start Menu Items> My Music> Display as Menu?

That's correct. So if the videos were moved to that folder, problem solved.

Yeah Murf, I need fast access to my video files. :p...but for some other purpose...LoLz
