I understand that a dedicated thread's been made for raw marks, but there's too many to put into one post.

For future students: I really believe that the illegibility of my writing and lack of sleep before the exams (legal and modern especially) severely affected my marks. I encourage you all to get into a healthy routine before and during exam periods.

My ATAR was 98.70.

Very interesting aligning/scaling (not sure of the right word) for the English mark. 95/105 --> 94? I would've thought it would go higher.
Also by HSC mark, do you mean the Exam mark? Otherwise your assessment scores could be changing it. It might be helpful to post the exam mark instead.

I have very similar modern/legal marks. Avidly awaiting the return of mine. I also bought back responses so it might take longer.

Although I would like to make one comment - maybe you shouldn't simply blame the illegibility of your handwriting, but instead maybe concede that your essays weren't as good as you thought they were?

Haha, looking back over this post, I was a little annoyed when I received the marks back and that definitely translated.

My handwritng got progressively worse after trials - I've never received 14.5/20 from HSC markers internally, even with much less preparation.

Great Depression. I swear it was the most discursive, nonsensical essay I'd written in a modern exam.

I really think the mark came down to my knowledge and synthesis of varying historical arguments and not simply going with AJP Taylor's conventional viewpoint.
