I also screwed trials up for business, english paper 2 and modern.

What do I need to do for an atar of 85+ and what am I looking at now?

I would say you're looking at an atar of around 75-80 right now. Just try to learn from your mistakes during trials and work hard for the externals.

If you have a strong external performance, which is difficult to define due to the interaction of many unpredictable variables, then you will be in the 80's.
