basically our teacher told us to come with a way to demonstrate how surface area can change the rate of reaction, using: marble chips, calcium carbonate powder, dilute hydrochloric acid, test tubes with stoppers and with and without side arms, lime water or calcium hydroxide solution,10ml measuring cylinder and a test tube rack.
some background information
calcium carbonate reacts with hcl acid to produce c02 and cacl2.carbon dioxide may be detected by "bubbling" (i d.k what this means) the gas into lime water.if co2 is present ,the lime water turns milky.calcium carbonate may be obtained either as marble chips or as a powder.
i don't know what to do.
thnx.
