hey all :)
I'm hoping someone can give me a few handy hints with my biology field study's abstract.

For my field study i chose to do a local river ecosystem.

I was given a scaffold with the assignment which stated an abstract as 'a short summary which states what you did and what you found out. By reading the abstract the reader should be given a good indication of what is in the report.

So far I've created the majority of my abstract but I'm not quite sure how to end it.

Anyway, so far it goes like this:

This field study was conducted to investigate, in depth, a local river ecosystem. The field study looks closely at the features, adaptations and trophic interactions of plants and animals located within the area, human impacts that have or are affecting the river ecosystem and also includes information and measurements of present abiotic features. Research to find out the necessary information for the field study was conducted in many ways. These methods varied from trying to identify types of fungi using the internet to creating transects and quadrats to estimate entire plant and animal populations.

Thanks in advance everyone

you could end it by saying something like:

... through this study of a local river system, the report will draw out and relate tropic interactions of plants and animals living within this eco-system, [and] how it is affected by human impacts and the possible resutling eco-system from human impacts. (this last bit is only if you're required to analyse, discuss and evaluate human impacts on your studied eco-system. If you dont need to talk about that you can simply end at 'human impacts'.)
