Need help with related texts for Belonging assessment (1 Viewer)

Hey guys, got a speech to do on belonging could really use some help

its an oral task "Understanding nourishes belonging... a lack of understanding prevents it"

one related text that we have to use is a poem of Peter Skrzynecki and at least one related text of our own choosing.

any ideas?

andy we can use more then one poem i think cause it says 'reference to study area'

I'd use migrant hostel and ancestors - shows the migrants ostracised because of lack of understanding but seeking out each other instintively because of their shared experience etc. ancestors shows how the persona of the poem can't harness this elusive sense of belonging to his heritage because being a second generation imm. he has lost connection. In felix shzy he talks about forgetting his first polish word, you know that bit about his father being a 'dumb prophet' and also he talks about how he didn't understand the enthusiasm of his father's friends greetings, he thought they were too violent, but this was just cultural - hope I haven't mixed up my poems.
Your question seems very broad, surely you need you own thesis for this?
