So currently, I am doing well in all 12 of my units, but finalising subjects for HSC needs to be done soon and I need some advice in what subjects to carry into HSC. :)

Currently doing:
English advanced
Maths extension 1
Physics
Chemistry
Economics
Studies of Religion I

For year 12, I am very keen on picking up 4 units of maths as it is something I enjoy a lot (not doing it solely for scaling btw). But that would leave me on 13 VERY DEMANDING units and I am currently enjoying all my subjects and doing equally well in economics, physics and chemistry. Should I stay with 13 units, or drop either chem, phys or eco so ill be on 11? Also note that I cannot drop SOR 1 :'( as much as id love to (it is compulsory). Has anyone performed well in HSC with 13 units with mainly hard subjects? THX IN ADVANCE.

You could always pick up maths ext 2, and drop another subject later on. 13 units isn't recommended as 3 of your units won't count- the effort put in for no reason

I did 12 units (all of your subjects except SOR..) and I did ok. Just time management and not procrastinating too much...
For your hsc, you can just bludge SOR and not care about it if you have to.

Oh, and I'd probably keep all your subjects till after 1st round of hsc exams. Then decide which subject to drop based on ranks/marks.

Was in the exact situation and I did try doing all 13 units for half a term. For some stupid reason, I dropped extension 2 maths because I thought chemistry was useful but now I recommend you pick up extension 2, keep 13 units for one to two months and decide which subject to drop since yr 12 is different to yr 11.
