Hey guys, I'm really scared for the ATAR i'm going to get =/
I'm doing horrible in ALL my subjects my ranks are;

- Standard English: 10/140
- 2U Maths: 83/90
- Biology: 20/70
- Modern History: 15/50
- Ancient History: 10/45

Would I be able to get my goal of 85 +

School rank is about ~ 90 - 100.

oh wow that maths rank..if that rank could come to top 20 you'd be looking at 85+..currently i'd have to say ~78...work hard man, you wont regret it

It's easy to say that, I don't think I can get 80 + in the HSC for maths.
Mathematics is my enemy, I hate it and it hates me.
Just going to work on my other subjects and try to get 75 in maths :)
Thank you mate, for your inspirational advice.

its going to be easier to get a higher mark in maths if you consider the bell curve - its easier to increase a mark of say 50 to 70 rather than 80-90 (of your humanities). Why fail a subject completely and weigh yourself and your cohort down, rather than to work a little bit harder in maths (relative to your other subs) and achieve an all-around better atar?

Horrible in all your subjects?
Actually you are doing really well all your subjects, except with maths. If you really cannot do exceptionally well in maths as you stated, then your best hope is the push your others subjects even a bit up. Since I believe you don't really have a 'natural ability' with maths then at least try to gain no lower than 75. Another advice is try to make your cohort work very hard in the following weeks upcoming to the HSC. This will definitely impact on your ATAR in a positive way. But getting an ATAR ~ 85 at the moment seems doable.

Just out of curiosity what major are you planning on doing as a freshman?

oh yeah, I got my trials back.

These were my results.

Ancient History: 91/100 (91%)
Modern History: 83/100 (83%)
Biology: 89/100 (89%)
2U maths: 60/100 (60%)
Standard: 83/105 (79%)

Does, this give an indication of me being able to fulfill, my goal?

School rank as I stated was between 90 - 100.

My ranks I'm not to sure, but I'll take a stab in trying to tell you them

Standard: 10/140
2U: 50/90
Biology: 4/70
Modern: 9/50
Ancient: 4/45

Oh, I thought someone was hijacking the thread because it was just another list of ranks in the thread - sorry.

If you can maintain those ranks, possible a bit better in 2U, you should be able to hit the 85 mark, likely to be even higher.
