Kambala deffiently. Even though I hate private schools, Kambala is probably one of the best private girls schools. Has a better location as well Not worth the money though. $20,000+ per year is way too much when I could get an education just as good at a public school.

Yep, thats about all I can think of now. If any are Catholic, ignore them, cos I just assumed all were private.

I would say the best schools would have to be: boys--Sydney Grammar and Barker, girls--Pymble and MLC, though Abbotsleigh and Ravenswood are pretty good.

If you're born tardy, no amount of money spent on private education is going to save you. Any public school can compete with a private school, on the same level too. At 1/100th of the cost, students of the public education system have gotten into ArtExpress, The Younger Writer's Showcase, Encore etc.

the only public schools that beat private schools are the selective ones which all get the smart kids ,while the hot posh private schools get all the rich bums even if there not so smart and turn them into brilliant kids,which can be seen where most private schools have teachers not only with teaching degrees but degrees in other areas as such as engineering,phd in science which therefor gives them a broader knowledge to teach and enhace the kids at these schools(note these teachers are payed in excess over the average of public school teachers,some up to 120,000 a year)

I'd have to disagree with that. Even non-selective, government schools do well, scoring well above 99.5 each year. Even one of the most disadvantaged schools in the state had a dux with a UAI of 99.75 a few years ago. Also, just because a teacher has more qualifications, doesn't necessarily mean they can teach better than teachers who only specialise in one field. They might know their stuff, but it doesn't mean they can teach it well.

im talking about at as a whole school not just 1 or 2 people exceeding 99uai.Also when you put a whole group of teachers with teaching quailifications and specaialisations in another field i'm pretty sure the probability of them being able to teach good would be similar to that of just a normal school

In physics which requires thinking for problem solving to match things logically.With our teachers little knowledge of physics compared to that of a engineer who came to our school for work experience.Our teacher took about 30 minutes trying to explain something,while the engineer was able to put it in a more broad view as he knows more,my class understood him in 5 minutes as he was able to go off the syllabus and more in depth to help us understand

i went to a private school and ive been at a public school and theres alot of prestige to it.. im not being a snob..but im glad i went to a private school..

and dont get the money part wrong.. alot of the parents that send their kids to private schools struggle to pay it off.. but there are many more oppurtunities.... i agree on that..

but if u say newington college or something liek that they'll say ahh what an excellent school or whatever..

thats truye..i know several ppl struggle to pay it off..i still think its a waste of time if there is a decent public school nearby..my parents could have sent me 2 a private skool but both my parents r strongly against it. i DO think its a waste of money..big woop that they dont know where Epping Boys is..or Forest High as u say...say a line..n they will know..kings does poorly academicvally as a school..im damn proud of going to a public school and there is nothing wrong with epping boys at all..actually i had the same comment as you said abt "an exccellent school" but i strangely enough go 2 epping boys which is a public school..my god..

epping boys, cheltenham girls, (not after the trial stuff-up ) and killara high all excel in many fields of academia, sport, extra curricular, debating, drama etc etc that exceeed any standards of most private schools in fact..

i value money by it.

We all learn from the same syllabus..its up 2 the person to understand..not to be spoonfed by "good" teachers the HSC is all about how well you memorise dot points..essays..the syllabus..it doesnt depict how good a person..or how good a school might be..

i get frustrated even at parties wen i chat 2 a few ppl that look down on me bcoz i go 2 a public school...im damn proud of that and if snobby ppl like ive met r like that..they rnt any better than the dickhead ganster down the road to me.

kings easily pwns it....the uniform kills, we have 3 theatres(of which one is a 2tier hall), a brand new massive library which includes quite new comps and a dedicated yr12 room , the whole skool has just had a renovation, 13 houses, a swimming pool, a crappy bball gym(which is gonna be knocked down and a new one built next yr),a gym, a brand new tennis court complex, shit loads of rugby and soccer fields,a farm, a renovated outdoor bball courts (5 or 6 courts), a power plug and internet connection for each person in every room, a ceiling mounted data projector in pretty much every room, ....lol swivel chairs..., a massive staff complex, sandstoned front of staff complex/hall/ and library...and a MASSIVE MASSIVE forest thingo place in the back...oh and a massive oval at the front.btw every yr kings is becoming academically better...this yr theyre 50something. halving its rank from previous yr....i can guarantee that this yr kings will definately go up a fair bitta places due to the many alrounders in the grade...
nd its pretty good academically considering almost half the skool are boarders...of which a few are farmers....

only joeys mad vest, and shores beautiful location and view can be compared.


nd also private>cath>public except for sydney high cos they r like the best guys public skool

You forgot riverview. And Aschams uniform is not what I would call hot. Khaki dresses? And you seem to have forgotten the only reason you went to Kings is because you got a scholarship.

But you have a point about kings' facilities they are nice, especially the theatre.
