if you seriously use apple lossless your fuckin retarted.

by using apple lossless you're using a proprietary format that compresses less efficiently than flac, so all your files will be bigger.

so you're fuckin retarted
Ignore the troll.

FLAC is smexy.

Flac is for archiving, not for listening on anything less than a multi-thousand dollar audio rig kpl0x.

Is there any difference in the audio quality from the iPod and iPhone?

For the majority of people, no.

I'm fairly certain HydrogenAudio did a proper analysis. iPhone has a better audio chipset and non capping capacitors so you get a better response, IIRC.

EDIT: but your point still stands, making the comparison is for sweaty angry 'audiophiles'

I nearly got run over by a car whilst trying to get my iPod because I dropped it on the road.

hmm,, my 4gb silver nano is fine =] ,, had it for like almost a year

just got a belkin leather case from DSE for like $8 the other day so yehh
guess its cuz theyre bringing out the new ones and stuff

only thing it has a scratch on the screen :(
my mate was saying how his itouch had a scratchproof screen,, so he was like aww see your nano's screen is scratchproof too.
so he took the nano out of the hardcase,, and pulled out scissors and ran it across the screen.
and then he discovered that nano screens arent scratchproof. ><"

on the other hand,, he always thought his touch's screen was scratchproof. or at least until it met his scratchproof watch

Stepped outside my budget by $90 but oh well.

I bought the iPod touch last year in Hong Kong for $200 but ended up selling it 2 months later.

It wasn't because it was crap (because it wasn't) it's just that I was hoping a next gen iPod touch would come out with more iPhone-like features (speakers, volume control, etc) which it has (yay!)

With that said, I've gone through 2 nanos and 1 shuffle before. Once you give into the iPod touch, you never go back.

The nanos look decent though and the price drop is greaaaaaaaaaaat.

Would love the nano for the built-in Nike+ feature. Smexy.

well i think as long as you are going to spend $350
just get an 80gb classic
it's enough for abot 80% of the population
i've got one and it rocks the screen sixe doens't matter because u can just hold it closer if u can't c
and from a 700 .avi i've compressed down to usually a 350mb mp4
and i've got like 10 movies and 8 tv series on my ipod pluss thouseands of songs
and there's tisll hepas of space for more

Yeah it does. Only, I can't imagine running with the iPod touch. I just can't picture it.

Someone's a fanboy.

I used to get angry at ppl that had 80gb ipods with like 10gb of music on them, but now i just laugh.

I have the largest music collection out of all my friends and i don't even have an ipod, its reeally bad. But at least i'd fill up a 80gb (with music not movies).

I have an ipod classic and I think it is brilliant. I have had no problems with it.

I had a nano and it got stolen from school, I wasn't as keen on it as I am the classic. Although it may just be the features that I love so much, movies, the ability to hold so much music etc. The orange nano is very cute though.

The beauty of having an 80G ipod is you can expand on your music and know you have room to do so. I have 4500 songs and 18 movies with 50G left!

>< there's like 80mbs free on my 4gb nano

and there's alot more music i havent put on yet =/

wish it was bigger....or that I had spent a bit more to get the 8gb

80gb classic = 20 4gb nanos
160gb classic = 40 4gb nanos
