Unfortunately Mac can get very boring if you decide to put a three hour, four hour or even longer break into one of your days. Sure there's Mac centre and the cinemas there and the gym and golf range and two museum type thingies and an emu farm and a bar with really crappy ESPN coverage, but you'll get bored of those.

So start watching King of the Hill and practise sitting around drinking and saying "Yep"
Haha, never!

If you ever get bored, give one of us a call and we'll happily give you a game of street fighter or pool!!

i could tell u that accg100 and accg101 are very difficult compared to accg105, this is because accg105 is introductry and for people who have never done any accg before (usually) or not majoring in accounting.

The failure rate (According to A. Malley) is around 30% for accg100.

It depends on whether you've done accounting before, accg105 would be best suited if you've never touched the theory before. While accg100 and 101 would be best suited if you have a firm basis.

Hello Hopendespair (& Ciel, but this isn't your thread, is it? ;) ...did you know that Ciel means "Sky"?)! Just a quick note to say hey and welcome to MQ (Please note you'll probably get a similar welcome from my better half when she gets online, eventually).

Seems the guys & girls have given you a good run-down of the entertainment available..So, I haven't got much to say except for "hello"!

When you come to enrol, I'll possibly/probably be working behind one of the desks at the end of one of the lines you'll have to stand in (1st year Enrolment is possibly the most painful part of uni, so don't let it turn you off!) -- make sure you say hello! (My name's Steve, but I'll probably not be wearing my nametag..)

All I know is that it traditionally involved copious amounts of alcohol. And I also know that many people will agree with this interpretation of Conception Day :uhhuh:
Sheesh. Your lack of knowledge is pitiful. Tsk tsk...where's the MQ love?

True, there are copious amounts of alcohol drunk by all. But saying that as a proud Macquarie student is akin to a Christian saying Christmas is just about presents.

Conception Day is the celeberation of the conception of our namesake, good ol Lachy - that fateful day when his parents felt a bit...randy. Ofcourse his conception day being in September is an impossiblity considering Macquarie was born in Jan, but meh, the date stuck - and has since become an institution.

There have been many Conception Day tales of yesteryear from gnome kidnappings, students rerouting traffic and collecting a toll (for charity and alcohol), the year of free beer, as well as more recently when Spiderbait played a flooded SAM bar when the sprinklers went off - our only ever swimming pool!

Major General Lachlan Macquarie, a Scot as Asy noted, was an early (and arguably the greatest) governor of the fledgling penal colony that was known as New South Wales. Despite being a conservative despot, he was a pretty rad dude and was considered rather enlightened for his time.

I personally think they should have bagpipers, serve haggas and scottish beer on conception day for a true Scottish touch.
