is JUAIseek as accurate? anybody?
JUAI predicitons are accurate, more accurate than the old SAM at least. They appear to be a little lower than the new SAM. Perhaps our UAIs will be somewhere between the 2 different predictions given.

I punched my marks into SAM and got:

2004 UAI: 88.10
2003 UAI: 94.20

what's with the huge difference? I'm really scared now.

ok SAM may not be entirely accurate, because i did my hsc in 2004, and i put in my marks just to see what the estimate was and the 2004 UAI was lower than what i actually got...

But based on my experience last year, don't stress about what sam says too much. It doesn't know anything about this years candidature anyway

Warning: mysql_result(): Unable to jump to row 0 on MySQL result index 84 in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/sam/sam_funcs.php on line 674

Laz, great work, but I've got a feeling that that error isn't from an overloaded server. Looks like a little error of code somewhere along the line? It's coming up with a whole heap of calls to various lines that it can't access, so maybe some thing is looping that shouldnt be?
Thanks for saving our butts, but my UAI dropped 4 points in 2004 from 2003 and further from previous years :( .. damn doing courses that I enjoy! (I'm blaming it on Entertainment (VET))

Edit: I think the error might be occouring because in 01-03 Entertainment didn't count, so SAM might be looking for an undefined line in the code, or looping back, because the subject didn't exist?

Yep, you're exactly right - sorry about that. Am going out now so won't get a chance to fix it until tomorrow.

Hehe, Glad to be of service ;) - Just take your time with it, besides, tomorrow we'll know our UAIs so it wont matter too much, but it's probally a good idea to get the bug out for next years candidates now, before you have too many complaints.
Just so you know, It's still estimating my UAI's, its just churning out all the mySQL function errors, and then displaying all the info (UAIs in 01-04 and mean) except the graph (you may have turned it off to reduce the server load im not sure), so I think it's just having errors with calculating the info, not displaying it.

oh and btw ive just realised SAM takes .5 marks as well so remember people if u get something like 84.5 which is rounded to 85 u should put in 84.5 instead of 85 for more accuracy.

How would you know you got 84.5 if marks are reported rounded up?

you'd put in whatever your HSC mark is.
but does the UAI change?

.... will the UAI contribution be the same? as in 84 assesment + 85 exam = 85 assesment +85 exam?
