first of all id like to start by saying i do not go to a selective school, i'm a average year 10 5.3 student but i really can get good results if i prepare and put my mind to it. i've chosen extension 1 and mathematics advanced for year 11 and i really want to do well so i was searching for tutoring recommendations on here and i mostly got kurt, dr du and ngo & sons, i realise that kurt and dr du may be way too competitive and challenging for me if i even get in the entrance test. so does anyone have any suggestions on tutoring places worth the money that will really help me out but is also not aimed at the top selective students in sydney. on that note i heard ngo & sons wasn't too competitive but not horrible like matrix education either so is that a good option tho i'm not sure i can get into their special classes but i'm willing to try. matt cash mathematics is also very appealing to me at the moment but the only problem is il have to do catch up for a term bc they started year 11 in term 4 this year.

(i'm pretty good at self study and understanding content i just need help in attempting hard questions and the thought process of attempting things differently )

i live near the parramatta area and i'm willing to travel to most places about 30 mins on train.

Heyo! Any tutoring centre you hear mentioned is going to be targeted mainly at selective school/elite private school students, as that's were the money is at in the class tutoring business. I went to one free thing at ngo and it was great and I know a few students from my public school went there so I don't think its as competitive and crusty as some of the other centres.

I was the specialist tutor for one of the places mentioned before I started our own. During my days as a student, they used to run exit exams where below a certain mark, you'd get kicked out. I can assure you now that its very much toned down.

If you enjoy the small class environment, come give us a try. You get the opportunity to ask questions and receive individualised attention that won't be possible with 20+ students in a class.

We do target the high band 6 in how we designed our cirriculum. You'll find we cover a broad range of questions, from easy to final question of HSC, so it encourages you to push yourself but not set yourself up for failure.

We're currently running a two week free trial, so you have nothing to lose :)
