I have always known the name Nikola Tesla, as l am from a serbian background. Watching videos on youtube and reading articles on the internet. Why was Tesla discriminated about his work so much. A number of scientist always rejected his work and wanted it diminished. Example Thomas Edison, Marconi and J.P. Morgan. l do not really want to debate these topics l am just wondering. Any reasons that you may think of? Thank you in advanced for reply.

Wow big big question....

I guess from my point of view is that Edison was quite vehemently opinionated about his own design of DC being the ultimate and was quite arrogant in the process. Edison ideally wanted Tesla to invent him some sort of concoction that helped him transport DC over long distances but alas this was not to be.

Tesla's 3 phase generator needed AC...hence the jump to Westinghouse. As for Tesla being discriminated I don't think this is appropriate but his ideas were better than the others at the time and perhaps this is somehow the perception of his great knoweldge and ability to invent devices to solve the problems of that era.

From memory Tesla also tried to wireless transmiit power over a certain distance and succeeded.

The guy is a legend and Physics demi-god and as you know helped make home power-transfer what it is today...
