From experience I would like to know if an 120 paged notebook will be enough per subject for the Year 12 courses, excluding handouts, or would you recommend a 240 paged one?

240 pages is just unnecessary weight in your bag.

I would highly recommend getting 2 or 3 72 page books per subject. that way there is less weight in your bag and you can use them as needed. It will be slightly cheaper as well since you're probably not going to use all of the book so you can use it for later

Depends what subjects you do, personally for English and Maths, I never seem to use up all 120 pages, even with the handouts pasted in, but the humanities and Science subjects would most definitely exceed 120 pages. Y11 Bio, Legal, Modern all exceeded 120 pages and Y11 only has 3 terms, just get 120 page books instead of 240, like gaslight said above, it's just too heavy on your back. Y12 subjects will be about 2 120 books each in my opinion lol

Hmm probably used around 2+ books for each subject minimum and they were like 128 or 192 page ones with like no glued in sheets, just writing

Have you considered using a binder folder, you can add or remove pages as you like and avoids this whole dilemma

For English, I would recommend using a thin binder folder imo bc you write less and receive more handouts
For Sciences and Maths, I understand if you want to keep everything in a book but just get a 128 and buy another if you need it
200 is heavy and kinda unnecessary
