Yes I have to say that I loved English Extension 2 as well...2 u English was not as popular because of what happened with our teachers. I had the exact opposite to you Gregor...my wonderful, encouraging teacher left us in exchange for a bitch who spends her lesson putting us down and handing out sheets.

Also liked Ancient History..the subject not the teacher!

Condescension never is much fun.. Funnily enough, I also have an interest in Ancient History, but dislike my teacher quite greatly. I wonder if yours is anything like mine...

-Appears to be some sort of doppelganger for 'Ms Li'
-Can't avoid condescending remarks.
-Has little to no faith in our abilities (I mean, we got given Year 7 maps because she thought we 'couldn't handle' Year 12 ones, and to make things worse, had to repeat the fact about 19 320 times!)
-Cannot give a compliment without insulting everyone else..

Of course, the worst thing is that many of my classmates actually like her, despite all the patronisation, and possibly..because of it?

yeah...like, i know for me last yr my english teacher was giving me shit marks for all my essays (mind you, they were shit) and my rebelious streak was like 'screw this, im gunna show her' coz it felt like she was saying i wasnt good enough and i couldnt do it and stuff, so i turned my marks around, i went from getting 12/20 for all my essays, to 18+, with quite a few 20's in there.

well in my case i got shit marks and then i said "I'll show her" but the marks kept staying the same.:mad1:

My favourite subject was Ancient history, no contest. The subject kicked ass, and our teacher was cool. A close second would probably be Extension History. The subject I hated the most was my 2-unit maths, mainly because I am hopeless at maths. Good thing I do 12 units. I also disliked my English Advnaced, mainly because the stuff we did was so boring. Now it's time for me to hit the books and study...
