Car registration stickers are being scrapped by the NSW government.
The initiative means that from January 1 car owners will no longer have to attach the sticky registration labels to their windscreens.
Instead, police will verify if cars are registered or not by checking number plates with computers.
Your views on this?

I for one welcome it, since owning my new bike ive had the label ripped off twice and tampered with once.

I think it's a reasonable move.

Apparently, however, without the stickers some people can't remember to do their rego on time and believe they should be re-instated just to help them? Someone should tell these boneheads: Big grown up = big responsibilities!!!

Guess its alright, don't really care. Just that my years of practice removing those things perfectly in 1 go will not be needed anymore. :(

The state will probably actually lose money as fewer people will pay their rego.

I use window cleaner spray. The trick is when you apply it initially to apply it firmly but leave one corner slightly off and let it fall lightly to touch (so it doesn't stick so hard). Makes it far easier to remove. Also helps to have a clean windscreen BEFORE you apply it in the first place. Haven't had any issues with this technique on my past two cars.

Damn just got my new sticker for the year in the mail along with a $558 bill (and $746 for ctp green slip). Can't wait for the removal of these stickers but I doubt the price will fall.

Good move. Less crap on the glass makes my car look better.

That's all that I've ever done and have never had issues removing those stickers
