Is it better to do 13 units, and have extra back up units, or 11, and spend more time concentrating on those 11 units???

Depends on the person. But if you handle 13 ok do it. Because even if you mean to you wont end up spending any significant amount of time more on those 11 units.

Pros and Cons for both. In my opinion, better to do few but well, then lots but just average. quality rather than quantity. but if your one of those people who tends to be 'unpredictable' when it comes to marks, then better to do more

I wouldn't say I'm unpredictable when it come to marks, my marks just reflect how much effort and work I put in. So in my mind, if I do less units, I can put more work in to them, and pull my marks up...but then I keep thinking maybe I should keep 13 units. I'm so confused!!!

Well you won't necessairly put more work into them even if you mean to. Its probable that you will just spend the time on something elese.

yeh if ur unpredictable, cant make up ur mind on what ur going to do then choose more units, else u can stick to 12 units and concentrate on those *but 13 units is better, being something u can fall back on

I wish I could do 12 units, but I want to drop chemistry. I don't understand my teacher, I'm shit at it, and I think I talked too much in class last year, and missed some important concepts :)

I chose 14, but as soon as I hate one, I'm dropping, no question about it. I chose 14 because I knew I couldn't be too sure of which subjects I'd want to do.

No it just works out nicely with ours, we have 38 minute periods 8 a day, minus 3 for sport and 1 for assembly we have 36 periods per week... so we have 3 periods week^-1 unit^-1. There isnt really a capactity to do more than 12 units.

i'm doing 12 units now. if i'm happy with all my subjects i'll keep all 12 units. if i'm not happy, i might drop to 1 unit of re to have 11 units or drop one subject to have 12 units. but i heard it's really risky. i just hope in yr 12 i can get some free periods if i keep the 12 units.

Hm... that's confusing... I have 9 periods a fortnight for one sub, so 4.5 periods a fortnight for one unit, so 2.25 periods a week for one unit...

But I have a period 0 every morning, and class during sport. There's 6 main lines in the timetable I think.

Normal school is 8:30-3:00 with roll call 8:30-8:40, but my period 0 is 7:45-8:40, and period 7 classes are 3:00-3:53

Once you start yr 11 it's from 8:10 to 3:10, but most of us finish at 1 or 2:20 (end of 5th period), we have period 0 in the morning and I hate it since we have to wake up earlier than normal
