you can go to zero, one, two, three, four, or five days of o-week, and you can stay for as long as you like. uni isn't like school m8, you dont even have to go to lectures if you dont want. i didnt go to my math lectures and i got a distinction lol, although i wouldnt recommend doing this because i nearly died cramming.

Oh. That's awesome. Sorry I'm so clueless on uni, it's because I haven't read or asked anything about uni till just 2 hours ago.

Do we have to go to tutorials? Also, how many days would you reccomend going to O-week? cus I think going at least 1 day is important but I cbf traveling 1 and a half hour to go to every day of O-week

UNSW have a lot of good shit going down, but usually they also have faculty stuff and seminars or some shit. For instance, there's a big engineering thing on for O-Week but I have no idea where or which day it is

Maybe I'll make a white club

"Australian m8s club"

Yeah tutorials they usually take attendance and if you miss a certain amount of class you could get an absent fail. Also some tutes attendance is part of your final mark, so I deffs wouldn't skip more than two of those- easy marks.

If you're going to the usyd o-week I wouldn't go more than one day lol otherwise you'd get bored. I'm seriously considering going to like 3 days of Unsw o-week though, lol.

Also because you are a big nooby noob when it comes to uni etc, you may want to go to one of those generic lectures at O-week about starting university and how it works, what to expect. You'll probably get a great deal out of it.

dont sign up to clubs because you think you might rock up once in a blue moon.

I signed up for the medieval club or whatever its actually called at usyd despite my friends best efforts to pull me away.

They were creepy and they spammed me all year and didn't take me off the mailing list when i requested.

I think everyone in the club looked special.

This. Unless you really have an interest in the area, don't bother.

tbh both o-weeks sound pretty lame..

I'd rather go do those events at proper places..

I'd rather go to a night club rather than UNSW's dance party..
I'd rather go to burwood club and play poker rather than UNSW's...

and in fact, I think thats what I'm going to do..

I mean really? A fucken connect-4 tournament? Thats the best they could think of?

Connect 4 is amazing what are you talking about

"i recently turned 18 and think i'm different to everyone because of it"

O-Week is about socialising with people from your new environment that you'll be attending for at least another 3 years, not about what games they're actually running

what the first years should do is go on the yellow shirt thing were you give them your timetable and they take you to your individual classrooms/theatres. i'm geographically retarded so that saved my life in my first week of uni.

i didnt know they do that!
i know they have the yellow shirt tours where they take you around the whole campus, maybe it's new this year or i havnt been paying attention last year.

also first years very good idea to keep a printout of your timetable and a MAP OF YOUR UNI in your bag.
