In Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" the clock is mentioned several times, even though clocks were not yet invented in Caesar's time. This object is out of it's proper time period/context. I'm sure that there is a word or literary device for when authors do this, but I can't remember for the life of me what it is! Can anyone help?
Thanks for your time.
