SAM's UAI: 99.95@!!#%?

A lot of my friends have got >99 using SAM as well!! Like people who didn't expect to get >99....to what degree is the margin of error on the program?

Thanks!
erm those are incredible marks - I wouldnt be surprised if you got 99.95 with those and yes, sam can be inaccurate at times but not in this case i suspect (though remember that it estimates the uai you would have received in previous years, not this year).

Anyway here's mine:

Units Courses Entered Examination Mark Assessment Mark HSC Mark Performance Band
2 Chemistry 84/100 90/100 87 5
2 Economics 90/100 91/100 91 6
2 English (Advanced) 84/100 82/100 83 5
2 Mathematics Extension 1 97/100 98/100 98 E4
2 Mathematics Extension 2 94/100 93/100 94 3 E4
2 Physics 92/100 90/100 91 6

Not happy with chem - thought I would do better in the exam than on assessment and I missed out on premiers award by 3 marks =\

yeah... that's what I think too

I am so surprised by the amount of people who got all band 6s, and how most people got band 5s with band 6s as well, only very few got band 4s. This worries me as it seems that the standard of this year's marks as generally much higher than previously. The problem is this. What if the average is all band 5s? then the UAI will be pushed down by how many people who got better than you, which would be half the state, and thus, will push your UAI so low. I am just scared...

English - 81 Band 5
Legal- 82 Band 5
Mathematics- 85 band 5
Software Design and Development- 86 band 5
Japanese Continuers- 88 band 5

I don't suppose anyone can tell me if I have any chance at all at getting over 90?

is that good... or average or bad ? im not to sure how the whole UAI system works so i dont know if that will get me a good UAI or not....anybody know ?

look mate, the majority of ppl who post here are smart intellectually and thus are only too happy to show off their results. do u think if ppl get 40/100 in all their subjects would eva post their marks? how can u accurately account for the level of acheivement in the state? therefore u are foolish to even comment.

i am repling to emilyyc's comment.

Okay, I know that I am foolish to even comment on the average of the state as I do not have any concrete evidence. It's only a concern of mine, and I have not assumed that the rest of the state will have average of all band 5s, I merely said 'what if', I believe that it's possible that the average of this year is generally higher than last year. I am sorry if I offended anyone..... I didn't mean to.

after my trials i made a new thread asking people for a uai estimation.

I gave them my school rank and my rankings and trial marks in the school.. Everyone gave me a prediction of low to mid 70s, with a rare chance of getting above 85 for my uai even if i study harder..

=p got my results this morning and posted them up in SAM.. Even though they have slight variations from year to year, it gave me an estimate of 87.95... =D and I was expecting a 77... =]
