Well, if you define fail to be < 50% raw, then it would probably be at least 10-20% in most courses. Certain ones like Extension Maths tend to have exams where it's difficult to score well in raw terms, so they'd be higher.

However 50% shouldn't always be the benchmark for whether someone has succeeded or not, hence why the alignment system exists.

If that's the case I failed maths to almost the hardest extent possible.

Also if that is your definition of failure, I'd say like 15-20% maybe.

Every person has their own definition of fail (mines below 70). The only fail in the HSC would have to be '*' imo and it would take a big effort to get it..You'd have to skip at least 2 exams I reckon.

After looking at the raw marks threads, I estimate 40-60% depending on the subject.

You have got to be kidding yourself. Can you write properly at all?

Anyway I thought it was really hard to fail the HSC, unless you didn't actually do the assessment tasks or show up to the exam.

I think the relevant term is sarcasm, or something like that ;)

Yes, in order to actually 'fail' the HSC, i.e. not receive one, you must be deemed to not have completed enough units to fulfill the requirements. This either happens by two N Warnings followed by an N Determination, or by not turning up to the exam.
