Currently im using my standard ipod headfones, but im thinking of maybe getting some new headfones, either on ear or around ear, not sure. I saw these sony on ear headfones for about $50, theyre kinda big, but i guess it means good sound quality, and i saw another one, a sennheiser, for about $60, looked exactly the same (almost) as the sony one, but it had sennheiser in its name instead of sony. Im not sure about model numbers...

Anyways, anyone know of good headfones i can buy, i'd be using at home for music mainly, and night time gaming (to not wake the house), and depending on their size, i mite take em with me outside to listen ipod with.

Recommendations and opinions, anyone?

get iPod on in-ear ones (i think they're 60-70) or sony on in-ear ones for 50.
good sound quality

although if ur hardcore gaming get the ones with the muffs, better sound quality. sennheiser is the best for this.

Proper headphones are better for home use, on/in/around ear solutions are better for outdoor/travel.

Get an open can like the Alessandro MS-1 if you're looking for quality <$200 (also allows you to hear the environment around you so you're not completely cut off...won't make your ears sweat during the summer days/nights either) or a closed one like the Sony MDRV600 or Sennheiser 280Pro (will produce better bass and isolation but are fairly large and can be uncomfortable after a few hours in the heat).

Having said that, if your source is simply an ipod, I'd just get some cheap headphones. You're not really going to be able to take advantage of these headphones without a better source.

No, the Senns are not better than the high quality Sony headphones.

In ear headfones dont work with me, ive had numerous surgeries regarding middle ear stuff with my left ear, so it tends to be waxier than usual, making in ear headfones slide out every 2 seconds..

Also i'd rather not spend over $70 on headfones, i can get new ipod ones for $50, and theres those sony ones also for $50 with better sound quality but bigger size.

I found links to what i think are the sony ones im talking about:
Sony MDR-XD200 Stereo Headphones - Compare Prices & Buy Online in Australia - Christmas Shopping at MyShopping.com.au

Sony MDR-XD100 Studio Monitor Headphones - Compare Prices & Buy Online in Australia - Christmas Shopping at MyShopping.com.au

one of those, since they both look almost the same, actually i think the second link is the one ive seen at jb and myer, for $50.
I wonder if anyone has them and can tell me about what theyre like...

I've got the MDR-XD200 and they're amazing for portable listening.

Highly recommend.

Good for portable listening eh? Their size doesnt bother you? I'd maybe feel a bit awkward sitting in a train with massive headfones on, but if the sound is good, then i mite consider it.

Where did u buy it from, and how much was it?

Don't buy cheap sennheiser. They're overpriced for the quality. You'd be much better off going for Sony or TDK or some other brand which focuses on that price point, not a brand that caters for audiophiles. Sennheisers are generally dodgy value until you get up to the 480 series and above.

Also circumaural (around ear) are the best for comfort by far.

Thought about around ear head phones, basically the same as in ear phones, but have a rigid loop that goes around the ear, used for sport and stuff, still, its good for its slund and stuff.

In ear phones suck for gaming as well. vI picked up a pair of really good headphones from dicksmith for $20, the staff said they were the best for gaming and they had a $80 pair of ICE headphones.
