however, i would contend that USyd and UNSW external NRSL transfers for law are probably very similar in terms of marks required (~96), and it would be unlikely that a person with mid-80s UAI and 6.5+ GPA can transfer in.
You are correct - the NRSL cut-off for UNSW law (though they do not call it a NRSL cut-off) has been roughly 1 or 2 points off USYD's.

Is there any reason why the UNSW/USYD ones stay so high? Apart from prestige et al, is there just more demand and less people dropping out of those courses ? It seems other uni law NRSLs get hit quite a bit

Thanks guys for answering all my questions...

But that's fucked!!! It's like they make the UAI haunt you forever... well at least a few years too many.
If they didn't, you'd have HD students with UAI's of 60 transferring from B. E-commerce at Latrobe to Sydney Law :)

Hey, just got bored, waiting for uni to start.
And my degree desicion has been haunting me.
I got offered 2006(UAI-85) b bus/eco/law @ uws which my gf totally shited on and
b ag economics (80.5) (enrolled)

I really didnt try in the hsc coz i got so bored waiting for test when everyone was out partying.

But i really want to get an economics degree. So this thread has been rambling on about tranfers and i thought i would ask some questions for the strong minded.

I thought USYD is a great uni compared to uws. BUt iam doubting now whether it was the right choice, coz on enrolment day last week the faculty/lecture for my applied eco course said that this degree 4fours is harder in the 1st and 3rd/4th yrs compared to the economics straight degree "its more specialised".

I thought as i think many would that a uai course of 90.5approx is "harder" than a 80uai course???
THoughts on this anyone??

Well anyway i want to work in gov't, travel to Nam or some asain country eat pad thai or stir fry, tell them what to invest in (mainly being as my gf's brother says (assistnt to howard) "confidently/top secret") sounded pretty cool. But i was wondering if i can get a high enough GPA or just finish the degree what is the likelihood of myself renentering or applying to do another economics/commerce degree. i dont really want to get a masters or doct in ageco unless the $$$ worth it.
And the chances of doing it at USYD/UNSW?

How about for me i withdrew from my 1st semester course and changed my course and started it on 2nd semester.

Doing it at the moment, im 1st year student.
I was looking at your calculation for a person and it said "1 full time year" ..

So say this semester i want to try transferring to another uni like Macquarie would it still be possible if i only done one semester and applying for a transfer?..

cheers, ash

Hi guys,

Sorry dont get mad but i havnt any time to read but i noticed the topic and yes im interested in trasnferring even though im still in year 12. I want to do Visual Communications at UTS (86.05) but i predict my UAI will probbaly only be around the 60s or if lucky the 70s. So i might just go study Visual Communications at UWS (60), and i was wondering, do you guys reckon it would be possible for me to transfer to UTS after one year at UWS? If it is possible, is there a good chance or is it hard (viscom is a compettitive course apparently :() to transfer? and will i lose a year?

A response would be much appreciated <3

Hmm so if was to work really hard next year at UWS (assuming i get into UWS viscom) and get a D average id be able to transfer to UTs with no problems?

Cheers for the reply :)

ok so im assuming i may ask a question about transferring here? either that or create my own thread and annoy everyone..

i want to transfer intra-uni (UNSW) but to a degree of higher UAI points form science to commerce (at least thats one of the preferences).. has this been done by many? and if so is it sufficient for the credit and above rule to be applied? any success stories of such can be PMed to me cause i need some inspiration

it depends on your UAI, but commerce was 93.00 so basically IF you're UAI was in the 80s, then you would need a D average to be eligible for a transfer...roughly

Careful; stroking your own cock may be pleasurable, but it may cause distress to those observing.. Particularly any 06'ers who may be watching, who get a <85.00 UAI and think "omg, im a failure". In conclusion, STFU.
