Hey,

I'm just a tad bit unsure about the OP requirement for specific engineering courses.

On the UQ website, it says the minimum 2006 OP cutoff was 9.

Link: http://www.uq.edu.au/study/program.html?acad_prog=2001

I am in year 12 atm, and considering doing mechanical/ aerospace engineering but worried about the OP requirement.

If anyone can sort out this ambiguity, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks :D

It doesn't matter, the OP9 entry (something around 80 UAI or whatever) is for entry to first year engineering which is the same for everyone, it would just depend on how well you performed in first year as to whether they'd allow you to do mech/aero eng.
First year you just choose subjects related to different fields you may like to do and from that make a decision by 2nd year.

heya,

I was wondering how they accept entry into different courses after the first year. How hard is the competition?

Also, is this just a UQ thing? or do they do in different in other universities ( eg QUT) ?

Thanks
