Is there only one organ of corti in the cochlea or are there a few? all pictorial diagrams infer that that is only one, but it seems more logical to have a few for different frequencies of sound.

Isn't the Organ of Corti continuous throughout the cochlea?

"a few for different frequencies of sound" different frequencies are detected by different hair cells in the organ of corti..their just at opposing ends.... high frequency sounds are detected at the front of the organ of corti ner the oval window and low frequency osunds are detected at the apex..the back
