i'm having to do a personal response to Shakespeare's Othello, as part of my preliminary HSC. we have to discuss how our response has been shaped by the play's: textual elements- themes, characters, language, rhythm, setting, context, structure, conventions, dramatic devices.
i have no idea what this means :(

I would shoot myself.

But you have one of the best English teachers in all of history, and she doesn't bite (me at least) so probs should ask her as well?

Basically the question is asking how the way you've performed a piece has been influenced by the play. Are you interpreting Iago as the bad guy or Othello as being wholy responsible for his own downfall, etc. Also the language used- techniques?
Also ask maybe my Engrish teacher as she's ace at shakespeare.
