hey!

when does the uni tell you whether you have been selected for the partnership scheme of 5 uai bonus points?? do they call you or mail you if you are successfull?

nah i don't think it's the one you're talking about, it's a different one. it's not for disadvantaged. certain schools are called 'partners' of the uni. the uni gives students from the school a chance to apply for 5 bonus uai points. a few students are selected from each school.

I assume that you get a letter. I forget when Macq sends their letters out saying whether or not you got it. I am not even sure if they do. I got a letter for UTS, and they mailed me, but I never heard anything from Macq and then got in to a subject with an average 96 UAI, and mine was just ovre 92. Go figure. Maybe if you call the Student Services area, they might be able to help you. Hope you get it. Macq is the bomb (not that I have been anywhere else).

i think you could sent a letter in the post - a friend got it - they would probably call you too. Tried applying for a SAM scholarship too?

oh I remember this! It's called the Lighthouse Access Scheme or Preferred Admissions Scheme or something. Most likely the latter, come to think of it...

I got my letter at my school's graduation a uni representitive will come along and have a talk and everything (yes, sucky up letters are good for something it appears...)

I don't remember clearly, but when I was working with the PR/Mktg department, I'm pretty sure we were the ones doing that mailout... That in the last few days (maybe a week prior?) leading up to the closing date for the UAC main round. ...I think that's what it was, anyway.

Regardless, you'd be fine ringing up and asking them. It's Tempel Matterson (in the PR/MKTG dept) that manages partner schools, so she'd be the lady to talk to.
