Hi everyone,

I’m currently brainstorming for my Extension 2 short fiction and I’d love some insight from students who’ve done well in the past. I’m really interested in creating something that’s:
  • Rooted in post-colonial ideas, cultural identity, and the experience of marginalised voices
  • Incorporates elements like magical realism, folklore, or non-linear narratives
  • Explores questions of identity, belonging, and “otherness” rather than just historical events
Could anyone share:
  • Tips from your experience on what really impressed markers for creative E2 pieces
  • Strategies for weaving research into a creative text without making it feel forced
  • Examples of narrative techniques (like non-linear structure or folklore elements) that worked well

Also, if anyone’s free to DM me, I’d really appreciate help brainstorming a storyline or plot.. I’m kind of stumped at the moment!
