i have 13 units for my hsc: chem, physics, bio, engineering, eng adv, maths accelerated and sor 1.

i need help figuring out what i should do about my pattern of study.

basically i completed my maths hsc this year (accelerated, i’m class of 2025), and i know i did really bad.

the reason i still do so many subjects despite freeing up a subject is because i know 100% that maths is my worst subject and won’t count to my atar. but i did my first task for physics and didn’t do as well as i wanted and now i want to drop it. i don’t particularly need physics for my career, i’m leaning towards medical.

but if i drop physics i’ll have 11 units meaning maths will count and i really don’t want it to. if i do drop, i’m definitely retaking the maths adv course and i really don’t want to either because i’m really bad at maths (ironic for my subject choices but oh well…)

what should i do??? should i keep physics and work with it? or do i drop it and pick up maths again?

let me know if you need more clarification, hope you understand what i mean.

What if you just wait until HSC results are released so you can reevaluate your plans. Besides, Maths Advanced generally has decent alignment compared to raw scores. So after you get your results, you can decide if keeping physics will be more of a better plan.

The workload shouldn't be too bad since you're technically sitting on 11 units right now. I think you should just see this one through and follow melanie's advice
