Hey Guys
I have to do a speech on one poem by Peter Skrzynecki and a related text about belonging.
The poem i have choosen is 10 Mary Street and my related text is The Lost Thing by Shaun Tan
Could someone help me with comparing these to texts together and how thay are simulair. thanks

Arggh... Do you have to choose Shaun Tan's 'The Lost Thing'?? It is SOOO over-used.... I STRONGLY recommend that you choose another related text to set yourself apart from the hundreds of other students who use Tan's picture books as a default option...

What exactly was your speech question?

AS an HSC marker there is no such thing as overused related text and it doesnt jeopardise marks. That is a myth. As a teacher I recommend The Lost Thing because its an excellent source, especially as a visual text and the Board of studies recommends it.

Students are to discuss the concept of belonging and how it is reprsented in 2 texts:
1) At least one Skrzynecki Poem
2) One related PRINT text of your own choice.
