That last one in the 2010 paper drove me nuts.

Isn't it just that the electromagnets make a magnetic field to the left whilst the current in the coil is going from left to right? so wouldn't it be (B) because of motor effect? I duno probably wrong.

Okay........ if you do right hand grip rule.... you'll find that C and D are wrong as the two magnets are both south poles...... A is wrong since the right hand palm rule indicates the rotor goes anti-clockwise........ Thus, B is the correct answer.

I think that the 10 one (multiple choice is pesh). The independent trials, kill me. They are so specific, like one word changes the whole context of the sentence. So, to the normal untrained eye there are 3 possible right answers.

to be completely honest physics HSC multi choice are damn easy, I never get less than 18/20... some of the independant ones are hard though
