Physics Question:

• Describe the different effects produced on the human body when the voltage is changed (particularly very high voltages) and when the current is DC instead of AC.

Well the question is easily understood, but I couldn't seem to find any information in my textbook about the question. Any detailed responses and answers are greatly appreciated.

So far, this is what I've got...:

The higher the changing of the voltage and current, the greater the damage (need evidential proof to back this up)

A DC (direct) current is less dangerous than AC (alternating) current. Direct current tends to cause muscles to contract strongly and this often forces or ‘throws’ the victim away from the source of current. The effect of AC (alternating) current depends largely on the frequency (Hz). Alternating current at 50Hz causes affected muscle to remain fixed in position, thus victims do not release their grip on the current’s source. As a result, the damaging current may flow for a long time, causing severe burns.
