Can you pick up a completely new subject for year 12?

If not, what about a beginner's language subject from maybe open high school?

You can pick up senior science in year 12 given you've done a prelim science course, but to my knowledge you can't pick up anything else because of the prelim requirements.

I guess you could pick up a new subject at TAFE/open high school as they do prelim/HSC in a single year.
