So I am in Year 12, undertaking my final year of schooling. I attend a high school in Western Sydney, and in terms of ranks, somewhere in the 400-450 rank in the State (woeful, trust me I know). I am one of those students, who yes, have been told and know I have the capability for very good marks, yet sometimes limited application partnered with little drive, leads to my eventual downfall, resulting in unfavourable marks. I could suggest, that at this current moment in year 12, I am moving along smoothly, yet am slowly but surely amping up the ante. I have received four marks back, don't judge my 2 Unit maths mark....this is a work in progress, getting private tutoring and i am well capable just didn't apply myself for this exam.
Maths:37%
Biology: 80% (am contesting this mark atm, teacher is a buffoon LOL)
Advanced English: 90%
2 Unit R.E.: 96%
I also do Phyiscs and PDH, and should do well for these two.
Now the interesting part. My aim is to do a Bachelor of Accounting, and specialise in financial planning or something along the lines of Buisness. The course that is relevant to this chosen field and in closest proximity to my house, Is UWS, where they offer ATM, the Bachelor or Business specialising in financial planning, and the ATAR required is 75. (Easily achievable, once again, don't judge). Now whilst I may be applicable for bonus marks (CAN SOMEONE ADVISE HOW TO LOOK INTO THIS), I feel that I can very much achieve this, in fact, the ATAR i feel suitable for myself and my capability, is above 87, that is gettable (mind my slang). Back to my school though, we have a strong cohort despite being low ranked, like I mean this year group is exceedingly strong, Top 15-20 average 80%-95%...like it is well good. But then there isn't much follow up, complete dopes below us, where school is not the forefront (pisses me off to the core). Now this years cohort for year 12, the one who just completed their HSC, the highest mark was 84, with rumours circling, almost 50% of those competing exams getting those dreaded 'mystery marks'. How, don;t ask me, but the year group were dropkicks, literally....dropkicks. If you have read up until here, seriously it is appreciated, If not, i can understand.
I need some advice/true talk. Can I get this ATAR above 87, can I exceed and excel at this sub-medicore school, what tips/tricks would you put forth for me to be the one who leapfrogs the cohort, keeping in mind, on my best day I can easily get top 3 in this Cohort.
And in terms of study plan, I am currently doing 3-4 hours per school night, 6 + on the weekend, and at recess and lunch going to the A/C in the library revising and progressing with my topics. Is this good enough, how can I maximise my study to get the best possible results, and what should I be doing to be standout. (DUX is certainly a goal, most important is getting into a Bachelor of Accounting to do my dream of financial planning...
Sorry for taking up your already limited time fellow FORUMERS...(once again, pardon my sub-par slang/making up words) but all the advice and as much advice will really help. I act best with advice, proper and educated advice that is, hence dawdling my way to this group of intelligent Gods (you guys) that I hope to one day be apart of.
Honestly though, all the help is appreciated and i seriously thank you for the time, it is appreciated,
Enjoy your night
