please help!! How is technetium 99m used? (1 Viewer)

We have just been given a project about nuclear chemistry. We need to talk about a medical and industrial radioisotope. If anyone has any information about ow is technetium 99m used like including the step by step procedure and how it is detected that would be amazing :)

Then just talk about it being bonded to some specific substance used in the body e.g. you attach it to some iodine and you can see how the thyroid glands are functioning

Technetium-99m is used to monitor liver-bile duct functioning. Its half life of 6 hours makes it appropriate for use within medicine, however the short length of its half life can be detrimental as a null result may mean that the liver is not functioning or it is functioning so slowly that the Tc-99m decays before it is transferred. In this case, exploratory surgery may be necessary
