In the step " Into (2)", I don't understand why a^2+2a(7/a^2) = 15 turns into a^2 - 15a + 14 =0
I was editing it. -.-

Damn my eyes are going. I am getting old!
So yeah... crafting equations from the roots and simultaneously solving them is the way to go.

Do not worry. Once I thought I saw the Cookie Monster walking down the streets, turns out it was a child.

Okay one last question:

Solve 12x^3 - 4x^2 - 3x + 1 = 0 if the sum of two roots are equal. I got one root as 1/3, used simultaneous but got the wrong answers.

I'm reading this an I must be retarded because I don't understand what "the sum of two roots are equal" means.
