solve the equation:

$x^{4}+x^{3}+x^{2}+x+1=0$

this is what i did:
$\frac{x^{5}-1}{x-1}=0$
.: $x^{5}-1=0$ excluding x=1
x = cis 2kpi/5
therefore x = cis +/- 2pi/5 cis +/- 4pi/5

is this correct and is there any other way of solving the question

that's the easiest method i think.

you can also use this to find exact values for cos2pi/5 and cos 4pi/5
