At the moment, my English teacher lacks the motivation to teach us and he doesn’t seem to teach us as thoroughly as other schools. I’ve picked 3 unit english as one of my subjects and I’m planing to take 4u maths next year. Should I drop down to 2u english since I’m not sure whether I should take 4u maths or not.
Do you guys have any advice?

If you can handle the workload, stick it out. My biggest regret of the HSC is not doing 3U/4U English. You're only in Year 11, you have the world of time to drop subjects but once you've dropped it you can't pick it up again.

If picking 3U English doesn't affect which teacher you will have, go for it. You can always drop later.
If you truly like English, then the teacher you get should not matter that much.
