About 12 of my friends are seriously considering Port Macquarie for schoolies - does anybody recommend it?

I'm going with like 15 other friend, guys and gals from like the 27th Nov to the 4th Dec. don't know how big it is but its got a beach and its cheap so we were sold

I'm going with about 10 other friends. We're there from around 21st November to 26th November. Accommodation's going to be cheap and it's got nice beaches and not the drunken crowds, so can't complain.

I didnt realise many people would go to port.
but that seems awesomet that there is some large groups going.
i agree its good coz its got a beach and its cheap, minus the drunkards, crowds and rediculous prices.
so im also sold.
im going with 7 friends atm..
trying to convince another group of 9 to come =]

im finishing the hsc this year like the rest of you- and i reccomend port macquarie if you're looking for a town to kick back in-
i've been here 17 years and i cant complain about it all. but its an awesome spot on the coast and you'll find stuff to keep yourself out of trouble before waiting to hit the macca or altitude or whereever else you'll find around.

i've been camel riding and its slow, but nice if you see it as nothing major. but nah our beaches are awesome, when the surf is just right.
there is no nuts peak hour traffic, its just port mac. thats it

hey....i live in port macquarie
and i have to say it is pretty boring when you live here
but i do recommend it for schoolies

should be good
just look out for the cops

i live in port
not much to do i.e clubs and stuff, we have like 4 good ones? maybe if you lucky,
but the beaches at the time are the best around
so if you looking for a pretty laid-back schoolies
come to port
party hard
and i might see you around as i am not going to schoolies

i think we're staying at the main caravan park..in cabins haha, its close to the beach. Should be good!

I will be up at my cousins after I finish uni, but not sure when my exams are yet. I'll be on the north shore though, across the ferry. If I'm up round schoolies I might head into town on my bike though, lol.

I'm going to schoolies with a group of maybe...10 or 12? We're doing a program organised by a tourist group or something, though. Might be a little organised, but it solves transport and where to sleep problems. Plus they feed us! Hooray!

There is another thread called port macquarie 08 and in there people said they are going in big groups and wanna have a beach party.. so hopefully we can meet up with them.. kate f posted on that one.
