Read what she wrote.

What you gain IN THE MARRIAGE is split. What you had before the marriage is protected by a pre-nup.

sperm bank? technically u would be considered a single parent ;)
bastard=someone who does not know who their dad is
sperm bank baby= bastard

anyone ever thought about he fact that pre nups actually anticipate divorce?

if youre getting married, youre getting married because you truly believe that youre going to love the person for the rest of your life.

if you sign a pre nup, isnt that kind of saying "yeah sure i love you, but one day i think we'll get a divorce cause i reckon youll fuck me best mate, so im gonna keep all me shit so you dont get any of it"?

in my opinion, marriage has been far too commercialised, and this is proved by the actual existence of a pre nuptial agreement.

Hahaha exactly hey.

Nobody plans to get divorced, but there's no harm in protecting your assets just in case.

People change.

Yeh fair enough.

BUT what if one of the two dont do anything? OR what if the person grows their wealth/business due to the foundations they laid down previously, then what? It wouldn't be fair for one of them to just take what rightfully is NOT theirs and they have put NO effort into it.

I don't know what the law say about business gains made during a marriage, but I assume these can be protected by a pre-nup.

It's things like the family house, investment property, dual accounts etc that will be divided. And once there are children, they are the first priority in every divorce and must be cared for financially.

Yeh dual accounts, and children arnt the issue.

The family hose, say the woman or man buys it on her/his own income, then why should their spouse get half of it, same goes for investment property and anything else for that matter.

Also, there have been stories of people getting married and then leaving their partner after a while (all planned) just to get half of whatever there is.

It's because both partners, even if one doesn't contribute to the house financially, both work for it. If the woman doesn't work, she probably does the cleaning, shopping and cooking and contributes to the house that way, and is thus entitled to half of it.

Non-working partners are given half because of their contribution to the household, even though it may not be financial.

If neither party are rich/has expensive assets I don't really see the point.

I doubt it, cos they wouldn't have anything really to lose.

Dunno statistics though.

id make my spouse sign one. women these days cannot be trusted at all.
I was actually talking about this with my boyfriend the other day.

He asked if i'd sign one, I said i wouldn't, but i wouldn't take my husband's shit if we got divorced unless he cheated on me.
i have too much of a conscience to do that.
Also, it's quite 'morbid', the whole concept. If i love the person I'd respect them too much to take their shit if we got divorced for anything other than cheating.

I would, however expect that if there were children involved that we would discuss how we would help eachother out with money and what not.

I don't plan on marrying someone i'd divorce, and i definitely wouldn't try to get half of their hard earned... earnings just as i'd expect them to do the same.

It's a respect and dignity thing, even if you get divorced.

INTEGRITY, PEOPLE!

EDIT: it's a trust thing, too.
