it sounds dumb but it genuinely worked for me with assessments, I set imaginary deadlines like a month before the due date and I felt compelled to get them done in time for some reason
I'll starting thinking that the math test is tomorrow then LOL

I don't know if this will work for you but what's helped me a lot this year is talking to my teachers. Whenever I have a lot of trouble with a question I just ask them about it the next lesson (don't suffer in silence lol). Try asking your teachers if they'll accept feedback (could be short answer responses, essays, graphs etc) on your work to know that you're going in the right direction/give you something substantial to work on, especially in subjects that you're struggling with. This also sets a closer 'deadline' and you can force yourself to do work if you tell them you're going to hand something in. If your teachers are useless then that's unlucky :(
