i think i'm going to pick up EE2 and History Ext, and probably drop maths.
it just makes sense to me; i'm ranked in the top 3 in every other subject. in maths i'd be lucky to make the top 20.
but that's not to say that this decision isn't making me nervous. :/

i hopefully want to do something in the media or law.

thoughts? :)

^Well media or law don't require maths, and you need high marks for law so if maths is going to encroach on that then drop it.

I'd drop maths for sure, if you arent good at it and your way better in your other subjects, then you shouldnt do it on the HSC. For media or law you dont really need maths.

Extension scales high compared to?

But in any case, I think Hist Ext scales higher than all your other subjects.

History Extension isn't as flash scaling compared to the other extensions, though it does have reasonably well scaling compared to your other subjects. My advice, if you're looking into doing it next year, make sure you understand that there is a major work and that it is a course that looks at the Historiography not the History. (But give it ago anyway :p)

I'll be picking up MX2 and dropping SLR (1 unit up and 1 unit down). Later in the year, I might drop Modern History due to it not working well for me at the moment. If I go well, it leaves me with 10 units that will all definately count.

School Rank: ~30
Predicted Ranks [Based on Half Yearly and Assessments]
Advanced English: 50/150
Physics: ~5/70
Chemistry 10/65
Modern History: 20/30
Advanced Maths: ~18/100
MX1: 25/60

My Chemistry mark can change alot, I was rank 17 in the half yearly but last assessment I came first so alot can happen.

Yeah gotten all my last batch of assessments back, I got 80% in eco but that's way worse than all my other subs that were like all 90% to 100%. (had assessments for every sub except maths, but even if I do worse in maths I need it for uni pre req).

So becoming more sure of dropping of eco.

Currently I'm doing:

Advanced English
2u Maths
Studies of Religion 1u
Ancient History
Senior Science
Visual Arts

I'm going to pick up History Extension because the course sounds really interesting, but I'm not dropping anything for next term. I want to drop either Science or Art afterwards though. Thoughts?

So if I do not do History extension, does that mean even if i do extremely well in my other subjects I won't reach a high atar???

^You will get a good ATAR if you do well in 10 units of study. If you do not, you get a bad/average/AMAZING ATAR depending on how you perform.
