and in the end its really the student that makes the difference. if the student is willing to do their best and strive to achieve they will do well in either public or private.
Sigh. Private all the way...I went to shit public school and I can honestly say I enjoy and feel more involved in a Private school than any other...sure there is the beurocratic nature of it and some people who are up themselves, but you don't ever escape that where-ever you go.

I started and finished in public, and overall I'm pretty happy with the outcome. But if I had my choice again, I would of gone private.

Well I had the choice between public and catholic private. Chose private.

Dunno the whole blazer/shirt uniform intrigued me (coming from a country where we don't have school uniforms) also Private School was CHEAPER than Public because at the time we were on a temporary Visa (Permanent now). So in the end we'd have paid more for public than private.

i changed from private catholic (CCCCC, pls dont ever go der, spread the wrd ....) to government (SMSHS) and the government public school has better teachers, better students, better atmosphere and better facilities ...
christ catholic college clare campus?
haha or something like that?
ummm i didnt think ccc was private.. just catholic? i dont think there r any private schools only yr 7-10..
i also thought that smshs was run kinda like uni.. how u dont wear a uniform and only have to show up to classes.. so u can leave during the day? well thats what i got from what one of my friends told me about it.. i think that would just have better students and atmosphere cuz of that lol

In the end, it is the quality of the student. I don't think you can classify public and private schools according to the stereotypes assigned to them, of which a few are the basis of these stereotypes.

It depends on the school itself, how well it's run, the quality of it's teachers and so on. You can't make a generalisation about this.

If I had kids, I wouldn't send them to a private school just on principle :p

No offense to any private school people, but it seems to me that a lot (not all, but a lot) of students think that they are somehow 'better' than others just because their parents have more money.

And also, the top schools for HSC results in NSW are all public :D

GO SELECTIVE SCHOOLS! :p

Just a quick thought/question. Selective government schools. They are almost as elitist as "private schools" are they not??
