can someone give me suggestions on productions of King Lear??
I went to video rental places and none of them have productions of king lear??

hey, i did king lear aswell and hated it. i also found that finding enough info on good productions was hard, our teacher gave us some brief notes on productions, like feminist readings, family/psychological drama, traditional aristotle/greek tragedy readings, theatre of the absurd/grotesque etc. try looking on the net for productions by peter brooks, nahum tate, kathleen mcluskie, thomas mcfarland. our teacher got these notes off the english teachers association website and they're really helpful. also, the royal national theatre has done a production, and also, i think about a week or two weeks after trials theres a production of king lear being shown in sydney and our class is going, this could also be used as a production. hope this helps....nag ur teacher too....

You don't NEED to watch productions although it helps. Look for notes on specific productions that you can refer to. There were a few last year that may be of interest...
